Kaydee Zabelin has today been selected as a Green Party candidate for Palmerston North City Council in the 2022 election.
Kaydee has been nominated to Council by Deputy Mayor Aleisha Rutherford and Dean McKerras, founder of Red Start Dance Company and DanceNZmade.
Kaydee says, “I’m motivated, ready, and looking forward to representing the community, bringing the voice of a young mother and professional experience as a legal secretary and senior business advisor, offering fresh energy, expertise and perspective to Council”.
Mother-of-two Kaydee brings a passion for sustainable lifestyles, nature and professional experience in resource management law and mediated justice outcomes, and is a familiar face in local theatre circles.
Kaydee will be standing alongside the Greens' Brent Barrett, who has served two terms with a focus on environmental sustainability and building a future-ready city.
Brent says, “Since 2016 we’ve made real progress in Council, but there’s still work to be done. Together, we’re ready.”
The Party had recently re-opened nominations when Renee Dingwall withdrew for health reasons.
